The Sunday Five (March 14th-20th)

1.FlyDubai Flight Crashes in Southern Russia Killing All Aboard: FlyDubai 737-800 crashed 800 feet short of the runway at Rostov-on-Don airport in Russia after circling the airport three times, killing all 62 passengers and crew on board. Adverse weather is thought to have been the culprit as winds were reportedly howling at around 60 mph at the time of the crash.    
2.Air France Moves two A380 Orders to the A350: Air France will convert two A380 orders to the A350-900, in another blow to Airbus' struggling A380 program. Air France now has 28 A350 aircraft on order. 
3.Delta to Begin Service to Beijing From LAX: Delta will begin daily nonstop service to the capital of China from LAX on December 16th, 2016. The flight will be operated on Delta's 291 seat 777-200ER. It is the airline's fifth nonstop to Asia from LAX. 
4.Cathay Pacific to Phase Out A340-300s in 2017: Cathay Pacific plans to phase out its seven remaining  A340-300 aircraft in 2017. The airline retired four A340-300s in 2015.  
5.Air India Orders 14 A320neos: Air India has signed a lease agreement for 14 A320s from airplane leasing company ALAFCO on the first day of the India Aviation Air Show in Hyderabad, India. The Indian flag carrier will lease the aircraft for a period of 12 years with deliveries beginning in 2017.  

The "What the Heck?" Story of the Week 
Two hellfire missiles were found on an Air Serbia flight from Lebanon to Serbia by bomb sniffing dogs after the flight landed at Belgrade International Airport. The Lebanese army said the two missiles did not contain any explosives and were used for training. The army also said they were returning the missiles to Lockheed Martin in Portland, Maine.
