The "What the Heck?" Story of the Week
Kristy Scott and her family were forced to evacuate their home in northern Canada due to the Fort McMurray fire. Kristy, who was expecting, boarded a Canadian North flight to Calgary with her cat named Meow Meow. During the evacuation, Kristy entered labor and had to leave her cat with Canadian North, a small airline based in Calgary that primarily serves the Northwest Territories. Meow Meow stayed in the Canadian North headquarters for a couple days before Kristy could retrieve her. Over those few days Meow Meow became a social media sensation and even received her own name tag. How cute!
Our #YEG flight ops team figured since we're looking after Meow Meow she should have proper ID! @Deputy6720 #YMM pic.twitter.com/iOBpaoX731— Canadian North ✈ (@CanadianNorth) May 6, 2016
